Rock Paper Scissors Summary/Plot
It follows a couple, Adam and Amelia. Their marriage is falling apart and they win a trip to Scotland’s Highlands. They both know this weekend will either make or break their relationship.
Adam has had face blindness his whole life. He can’t recognize friends or family, or even his wife. For every anniversary the wife writes letters to her husband but doesn’t give them to him.
One of them is lying. They didn’t just randomly win this trip, and there is someone who doesn’t want them to live happily.
Rock Paper Scissors Book Review
The book is intriguing and engaging. I have to say I’m impressed. The crazy amount of twists in the story is brilliant and I loved the vibe of it.
The story is spooky and creepy with the crazy twist in the end.
About the WRITING.
The writing is sharp and evocative, it keeps you on the edge of your seat with its well-crafted tension.
The plot is intricately layered and It’s a page-turner.
About the CHARACTERS and POVS.
It has multiple POVs (Point Of View), with different POVs the book also lets you read the letters the wife has written to her husband over their 10 years of marriage.
We read the POVs of Adam, Amelia, and Robin, and also the letters, that let us know about their past, and that makes this book more interesting.
Characters are unhinged. While reading their POVs you will keep guessing who is wrong who is right or both are right or both are wrong.
Both Adam and Amelia have trust issues with each other. They hide many things. Robin’s character has been very mysterious since the beginning.
Talking about the OVERALL STORY
It was brilliant. The setting was amazing it gives you that cold and snowy vibes. I read this in winter so it was just perfect.
Right from the beginning you can feel the tension between them and the place they are staying in will give you a creepy, spooky, and eerie feeling. They are in the Scottish highlands which is a remote place and there is heavy snow, so they are stuck at a place like that.
The twists were so brilliant and crazy that I was staring at the wall for a minute after the major twist. I was like “What! I’m reading the story wrong this whole time!”
After the beginning, I did get a bit distracted but I was still engaged in the story. After this, you’ll want to read more of Alice Feeney’s book.
Don’t miss out especially if you’re into gripping psychological thrillers with compelling writing, unexpected twists, and characters that’ll keep you guessing.
There is a lot that happens in the story. It’s best if you just go into this book blindly. I’ll recommend this book to everyone even to non-thriller readers.
