The Silent Patient Review
This book, The Silent Patient, is so much hyped up. It was everywhere on bookstagram and booktok. I was like should read it and just end this suspense that’s going on in my mind.
It’s very interesting to see if she will speak or not and if she does what truths will be unraveled.
The author has also used Greek mythology which is very interesting I like all these mythology-related stories.
If I have to talk about the story, Theo’s story was boring to me but Alicia’s part is very interesting. Her journal and her part at the mental asylum, are the things that kept me hooked to the book till the end.
The ending twist it’s very interesting. If you’re a new reader or haven’t read much of Suspense, Mystery, and Thriller books before then you won’t be able to guess it.
I have a habit of trying to guess the ending so when I was almost 50-60% in the book I suspected but I was not 100% sure of course because you don’t know what goes in the writer’s mind. And my suspicion was right.
It has not shown therapy in the right way but according to the story, it was understandable.
More than a psychotherapist Theo worked as a detective.
The language is simple you can go ahead and read this book it’s good and it will keep you hooked to it till the end. Even if you want to leave it because you are getting bored, you will still want to continue to know the ending.
What I Liked About The Book
The start of the book is good and you will get hooked on it. You’ll want to know the ending.
It is fast-paced with an interesting storyline.
The use of Greek mythology is so good. And the way it was added in the story to solve the mystery was something I loved.
The suspense was intense and the ending twist was good.
What I Didn’t Like About the Book
At some point, the other characters seemed very dramatic to me. They didn’t feel like actual people. They were given so much attention when they were introduced in the book but after that, it was as if they just vanished from the world.
It has shown therapy a long way that’s not how therapy or mental asylums work. According to the story, it was understandable. But If someone doesn’t know anything about therapy it can give a wrong idea to them.
Theo’s story was kind of boring to me. It felt like it was stretched too much I really wanted to skip his part. But I didn’t because the writer has written it then there might be something in his story too so I kept reading.
