Synopsis of Twisted Love

He has a heart of ice…but for her, he’d burn the world.

Alex Volkov is a devil blessed with the face of an angel and cursed with a past he can’t escape. Driven by a tragedy that has haunted him for most of his life, his ruthless pursuits for success and vengeance leave little room for matters of the heart.

But when he’s forced to look after his best friend’s sister, he starts to feel
something in his chest: A crack. A melt. A fire that could end his world as he knew it.

Ava Chen is a free spirit trapped by nightmares of a childhood she can’t
remember. But despite her broken past, she’s never stopped seeing the beauty in the world including the heart beneath the icy exterior of a man she shouldn’t
want. Her brother’s best friend. Her neighbor. Her savior and her downfall.

Theirs is a love that was never supposed to happen—but when it does, it
unleashes secrets that could destroy them both and everything they hold
dear.

Twisted Love Book Review

It is an enjoyable read. If you use social media then you must have seen this book series. It’s very popular among Romance readers. I had high expectations for this book. I started reading this because it seemed an interesting book series and of course Fomo. So it’s worth giving a try.

The story has Brother’s best friend trope. Alex had to look after his friend Josh’s younger sister Ava as Josh is moving to another city and Josh doesn’t want to leave Ava alone because of their past experiences. Alex is a grumpy and cold person. Ava has a warm and sunshine personality. These opposite personality gets attracted to each other.

The book also has many other characters like Ava’s friends Jules (party girl), Stella(Influencer), and Bridget (a literal princess). Their friendship is amazing. They are always there for each other. We always see boys’ strong friendships but this book has shown strong friendships between girls.

There are many fun scenes between the girls and Alex. The tragic past of Ava and Alex explains why they are the way they are now. Ava and Alex’s story was slow at first then they got close to each other in a very short time. It went 0 to 100 very fast.

The writing style is good and easy to read. The first half of the book is amazing I enjoyed that but later it started to go south in my opinion. I’m glad it is dual POV otherwise I would have hated Alex Volkov. Dual POV is the best thing about this Romance book.

After all the chaos as readers, we want to see how Alex is trying to get back with Ava but sadly there wasn’t much about it’s just a huge time jump of a year. We want to see the groveling part not just of one page after seeing how bad things were.

I liked Josh’s reaction to the revelation as it seemed something a normal person will do in real life. I really loved how Ava Chen overcame her childhood trauma thanks to no one but herself.

I loved all the characters in the book. Especially girls as they all are different and live different types of life. Overall I liked the book and the next book of the series is definitely on the reading list.

Why You Should Read Twisted Love

Do you love the grumpy and sunshine trope? read this one. Both the characters really fulfill all the criteria of grumpy and sunshine.

Want to and love to read spicy books? this one definitely has that. It won’t be disappointing in that matter.

If you like to read books in which the main male character is rich, powerful, alpha, and possessive then this book will be an enjoyable read for you.

My Final Thoughts

It was really hard to write a review for me because this book left me with confusion if I loved this book or not. I have confusing mixed feelings about this one which is hard to explain. Still here’s the review of this book.

What I Didn’t Like

There was more telling rather than showing. It was just them telling about how they feel instead of showing, especially that a year jump. I want to know everything about that groveling part I want to know what he did for a whole year.

Liking Alex Volkov is a bit confusing. I have mixed feelings about him. I know some readers loved his character. Sometimes he was annoying and definitely too possessive I did expect it but not this much. In the book, it’s okay, good, and enjoyable but in real life, it’s hard to even like a person like that.

What I Liked

The whole Operation Emotion part was funny and cute. I really loved that part of the book. The first half was very good and that’s what kept me going till the end of the book.

Ava and Alex’s past did make me a little connected to them otherwise It would have been disappointing. Cause reading without connecting with the main characters would not have made this book enjoyable or good.
