Verity Book Summary/Plot

Lowen Ashleigh is a writer who is struggling financially. She was given an offer by Jeremy Crawford, husband of the bestselling author to complete a popular book series by a well-known author- Verity Crawford was not able to complete the series because of her physical condition.

Lowen accepts the offer because she wants money. Verity and Jeremy have a son and also had two daughters and both of them are not alive. Lowen moved to their house to complete the series. She was going through Verity’s office and notes so that she can think about how she should start writing the series and complete it.

There Lowen came across an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended anyone to read. Which reveals many bone-chilling horrible truths, including the truths of the day her daughters died.

Lowen keeps manuscripts hidden from Jeremy knowing he will be devastated by that. As Lowen’s feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she started to wonder if he read those manuscripts will it benefit her. No matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her.

Are those manuscripts true or the truth is something else?

Verity Book Review

I completed this book in one day. The story is intense and dark which I totally loved about this book. Once you start reading it you won’t be able to stop yourself just one more chapter- one more chapter, one more page- one more page.

This gave me creepy vibes in a good way. The characters had that kind of mystery no matter how much you read you will be suspicious about why they are doing this.

This book is going to be my all-time favorite and the ending is something I totally did not expect.

I literally got emotional when I read the last part(Letter) of the story. I was like what?!. Was everything a lie? Or that was true. After you complete this book you will be given a choice of which side you want to believe in and which truth you want to believe in.

This was the first thriller book by Colleen Hoover. Her novels always have unexpected endings and mind-blowing twists. Most of her books are romantic books but this was her first thriller and I literally loved it. She’s a writer that keeps popping up on my social media. It’s like faith is telling me to read her books.

I love talking about this book to know others’ opinions of which side they are choosing letters or manuscripts.

For readers who have already read this book

Which team you are on? Team Letter or Team Manuscript.

Non-Forgottable Scene From Verity

I just want to talk about one of my favorite scenes or a scene I won’t forget easily. I’m not going to give you much description about it as I don’t want to spoil the story for you.

I was so into that book at that scene – She sleeps in her room but she wakes up at another place on another bed.

I got overwhelmed by reading it. I just took a break drank cold water and then I again started reading it. It just gave me chills and goosebumps.

Verity Quotes by Colleen Hoover

  • It’s natural, to assume the worst in people, even if that assumption is only for a split second.
  • The things lurking around inside the mind can be just as dangerous as tangible threats.
  • I think the idea of myself is better than my reality of me.
  • No one is likable from the inside out.
  • Find what you love and let it kill you.
  • It’s what you do when you’ve experienced the worst of the worst. You seek out people like you…people worse off than you…and you use them to make yourself feel better about the terrible things that have happened to you.
  • The good thing about sins is they don’t have to be atoned for immediately.
  • Don’t focus on why you are playing the game. Just focus on the finish line.

Trigger warning⚠️–  Child abuse, Attempted Self-abortion, Attempted murder of newborn.
