It Starts With Us Review
“It Starts With Us” is one of the most anticipated a sequel for me and for many readers too. After reading “It Ends With Us” I just wanted Atlas’s POV and I was very excited when I heard about the sequel having Atlas’s POV.
It Starts With Us is more like an epilogue with many new things and revelations. It Starts With Us gives closure to It Ends With Us readers which readers wanted and Colleen Hoover has given that.
It Ends With Us is one of my favorites I gave it 5 stars because it was an emotional roller coaster. It talked about domestic violence and many more things.
It Starts With Us doesn’t give me anything to feel. It was very predictable and it didn’t have that typical Colleen Hoover vibe and twists. You’ll like it if you wanted a closure or sequel and want to know about Atlas.
I loved the new characters in the book especially Theo the way he made fun of Atlas and their bond is something I loved the most in the book.
Atlas has been shown as a way to nice person which made him seem more fictional. Yes, his hard childhood made him a strong and also soft-hearted person but in this sequel, he felt fictional which he didn’t feel in the first book well it would have been disappointing if he had a negative side because that’s not how I thought of Atlas but still a little bit of negative would have made him seem like a real person.
I like this sequel because I wanted it. I wanted twists in the story but there wasn’t any big twist which is a little disappointing but it’s okay.
I loved how some characters didn’t change because that’s how reality is. People say people change, well yes, they do but that is not the case for everyone. Some people just don’t change, they just say that ‘I have changed’ but deep down they are still the same person with the same behavior.
I loved how Lily handled every situation. She is literally the Heroine. She kept her daughter out of all the chaos and chose what was best for her daughter and herself.
I enjoyed reading it. Just like It Ends With Us I finished it in one day. It Starts With Us is easy to read as compared to It Ends With Us because It Starts With Us doesn’t make you feel heavy as It Ends With Us did.

- We’re impressionable when we’re younger, and when you’re told you are nothing for years on end by everyone you should mean something to, you start to believe it. And you slowly start to become nothing.
- Yes, asking for a divorce hurt. Yes, I was heartbroken. But no, I don’t regret it.
- My choice helped me realize that sometimes the hardest decisions a person can make will most likely lead to the best outcomes.
- Anyone who has ever left a manipulative, abusive spouse and somehow stayed that course deserves a medal. A statue. A freaking superhero movie.
- Society has obviously been worshipping the wrong heroes this whole time because I’m convinced it takes less strength to pick up a building than it does to permanently leave an abusive situation.
- The hardest part about ending an abusive relationship is that you aren’t necessarily putting an end to the bad moments. The bad moments still rear their ugly heads every now and then.
- When you end an abusive relationship, it’s the good moments you put an end to.
- Maybe the idea of love ending being a negative thing is simply a matter of perspective. The idea that love came to an end means that, at some point, there was love that existed.
